Last night Florida executed a man for raping and killing two people (source).

After his death, the mother of the people he killed issued a statement saying she “hoped his case would serve as a lesson to people before they make bad decisions…”

That might be nice, but it sort of implies that before going on a rape-and-killing spree people will sit down and rationally weigh the pros and cons, perhaps making a list with two columns to help them sort it all out.

I can’t really see that happening.

    … I think that it was a bad decision to put him to death… does this mean that the Mother thinks that the officials that put this human being to death will need to think about their actions..? (but if they are human, they will regardless of the condemned’s guilt)
