Well, that’s the stereotype.  I know a lot of people who ride bikes and a lot of people who are vegetarian or vegan, but I don’t know anyone who really fits it.

I do, however, know a lot of meat-eaters who are extremely sensitive about their choice.  They all seem to know the same joke, and insist on telling it:  “Did you know, um, that ‘vegetarian’ is an, um, ‘Indian’ word that means, um, ‘bad hunter?’  Huh-huh! Huh-huh!”

Yes, I think I’ve heard that one before.  It never gets old.

    …it doesn’t get old..! I like that joke.!!

    But I think that the fad of being “something” in America has begun to wane… no one is “first” or “unique” because of their choices… from lactose intolerance to having a same-sex relationship, society has begun to encompass much of what was once “special”…
