Live for today…

I think this song is equal parts idealism and fatalism.

When at any moment the draft could pluck you from your home and whisk you half a world away, or the Soviet Union could rain bombs down upon your head, it would be hard to adopt a philosophy that looked forward to happier days.

  1. …this song transported me back to the late 70’s and listening to a neighbor’s radio in a still-intergrated Detroit after cutting the lawn… just a good song… and I can hear the clash of looking forward to either nuclear armageddon or death in an Asian jungle… and making the decision, the ONLY decision that any of us, let alone someone facing such a circumstance has to make… live, live for today…
