I used to watch Lawrence Welk every Sunday.

I loved him because he was happy being who he was.  He never tried to be hip or current, he just played his music and featured pretty girls dancing in pastel colors with handsome men wearing suits and ties.

And really, differences in music are just different ways to express the same emotions.  Love is love, whether it’s expressed through a throbbing bass, a crunching guitar, or some lovely violins with champagne bubbles wafting through the air.

  1. …he was who he was without kitsch or pretension… and most of all, he was doing something that he was in true love with… making music..!
