Someone Good

Lou Reed wrote this song after spending a day in Central Park with his fiancée, but the ominous closing lines- “You’re going to reap just what you sow”- have led many to believe it’s also an ode to his heroin addiction.

Whatever his personal motivations, I think the theme of joy and melancholy intermingled is what made it resonate with so many people.
