I hated school, and “he’s not challenged enough” was the go-to for my teachers. So they put me in accelerated classes that had a lot more busywork.
What I really needed was a little time to myself to daydream.
The older I get, the less convinced I am by the whole school thing. In the past, disabled people used to be put in asylums. These days they’re supported in the community, by and large. I like to think something similar might happen to children’s education.
