I remember what happened the last time they raised the minimum wage.

Every apartment complex in town, all at once, raised their rents by an equal amount– and all of the money that was meant to help the working poor instead went to the leisure rich.

Upping wages, while important, is not going to repair an inherently corrupt and dysfunctional system.

What we need to do is break apart the monopolies and make family-owned businesses the backbone of the economy. The companies that can’t be broken apart need to be represented by strong labor unions.

Wealth belongs to people who do the work.

    …that is exactly what I fear… even as the wealthy complain about the cost of wages they will lose little time in exacting a hire price for goods and services… so in the end, things will stay the same…
